Of Ngāti Porou descent, Michelle Te Kira has been a strong advocate for equitable healthcare since 2005. As General Manager of Three Rivers Medical in Gisborne, one of the region’s largest practices serving almost 20,000 patients, she works at the frontline of addressing the needs of Māori and high-needs populations.

Michelle has held key leadership and governance roles across the health sector. She is a current RNZCGP assessor and the former Executive Chair of the Practice Managers and Administrators Association of New Zealand (PMAANZ).

As an establishment Board Member of thePHO, Michelle is focused on ensuring fair funding, effective advocacy, and better access to care for priority communities/Whānau.
