Dr Richard Lowe is a Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners and Managing Director at GP Central, a 100% GP-owned, high-needs practice in Mt Roskill, Auckland, serving 14,500 patients. He holds a Clinical Diploma in Palliative Medicine and has a special interest in Palliative and Aged Care.
Richard takes a diligent, diplomatic, and solution-focused approach, with a passion for clinician-owned General Practice and a long-term vision for the sector. He brings a fresh perspective on today’s challenges and is determined to see General Practice thriving for decades to come.
He has served as a PHO Associate Clinical Director, represented the GP College on Health New Zealand’s Palliative Care Contracting & Funding Working Group, teaches GPEP1 registrars, and provides care at three local rest homes.
As an establishment Board Member of thePHO, Richard is committed to ensuring the PHO operates transparently and efficiently as a not-for-profit, reduces bureaucracy, and channels funding into sustainable, high-quality, accessible, and equitable front-line care.
