Dr Mark Peterson is a full-time General Practitioner and Director of Taradale Medical Centre. With more than 30 years in clinical practice, he brings extensive leadership experience and a strong commitment to strengthening the future of General Practice in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Mark has held key governance roles including Chair of the NZMA GP Council and Board, and Deputy Chair of the Hawke’s Bay Primary Health Organisation. He has been a leading advocate for fair funding and sustainable contracting, working to ensure that General Practice remains central to the national health system.

As an establishment Board Member of thePHO, Mark is focused on creating a system where General Practice is valued, well-resourced, and viewed as a rewarding career path for future generations.
