Te Waipounamu Project Engagement Lead

Lovey Ratima-Rapson

Lovey leads practice engagement across Te Waipounamu for thePHO, walking alongside South Island general practices from Wairau to Murihiku as we build Aotearoa’s new national Primary Health Organisation.

Her kaupapa is relationships — listening, building trust, and making sure every practice feels supported through the transition. She brings 20+ years across primary, community, oral health, private practice, and NZDF military medicine, including multi-year leadership PHO’s where she managed a network of 95+ Canterbury general practices.

Lovey is an RNZCGP-certified Te Mana Taurite equity assessor and a Designated Auditing Agency assessor for Ngā Paerewa (NZS 8134). She holds a BA (Business) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Public Health.

She’s driven by a simple belief: equitable, whānau-centred primary care isn’t a nice-to-have — it’s the whole point.
