Jean Doherty is the Finance Director at thePHO. She is a Chartered Accountant and senior finance executive with more than two decades of experience leading finance, governance and reporting across complex, multi-entity organisations.

Jean most recently served as Head of Finance at Cure Kids, where she was a strategic partner to the CEO, Board and Investment Committee, leading consolidated reporting, audit and investment oversight. She brings direct PHO experience from her four years as Financial Controller at Alliance Health Plus PHO, where she led statutory and Board reporting, budgeting, audit and regulatory compliance within primary care. She also served as Chief Financial Officer of Surf Life Saving Northern Region, and began her career with KPMG in Auckland and London, rising to Audit Senior Manager. Jean is recognised for building and mentoring high-performing finance teams, strengthening internal controls, and modernising systems and processes to support better decision- making.
As Finance Director, Jean is focused on providing strong financial stewardship and transparent reporting, ensuring thePHO's funding is managed sustainably and reaches the practices and communities it serves.
